Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 5, 2026

1. Introduction

SEO Sniper ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by ChrisMO Enterprises LLC, provides an AI-powered SEO content generation and publishing platform at seosniper.io. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account through our authentication provider (Clerk), we collect your name, email address, and profile photo. Authentication is handled by Clerk — please review Clerk's Privacy Policy for details on their data handling practices.

2.2 Website and Content Data

To provide our services, we collect and store: website URLs you manage, SEO keywords and keyword rankings, generated articles and their content, blog styling preferences, auto-scheduling configurations, and site audit results.

2.3 Platform Connection Credentials

When you connect external platforms, we store: WordPress site credentials (encrypted at rest using AES-256), Shopify OAuth access tokens, Wix OAuth access tokens, and Google Search Console OAuth tokens. These credentials are used solely to publish content and retrieve analytics data on your behalf.

2.4 Payment Information

Payments and subscriptions are processed by Polar.sh. We do not store credit card numbers or payment method details. Please review Polar's Privacy Policy for their data practices. We receive and store subscription status, plan tier, and billing period information.

2.5 Usage and Analytics Data

We use analytics tools to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it:

  • Vercel Analytics — privacy-friendly and cookieless, providing aggregated metrics such as page views, browser type, and general geographic region.
  • Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js) — sets first-party cookies (such as _ga and _ga_<container-id>) to distinguish unique visitors and sessions, and collects information such as the pages you visit, time on page, referring source, approximate location (derived from a truncated/anonymized IP address), and your device and browser type. Google processes this data as a service provider on our behalf, subject to Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services. You can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites using Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Aside from these analytics cookies and the cookies required for authentication sessions, we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

2.6 Newsletter & Email Communications

When you subscribe to our newsletter (via the footer form), we collect your email address along with the timestamp of your signup, your IP address, and your browser user agent. This is required to demonstrate consent under GDPR Article 7. We use double opt-in: your email isn't added to the active list until you click the confirmation link we send. Every newsletter email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we honor unsubscribes within seconds. We never share, sell, or rent subscriber email addresses. If you unsubscribe, we retain a tombstone record of your email solely to enforce the unsubscribe (so a future re-signup form submission doesn't silently re-add you).

Transactional emails (publish failures, integration auth expiry, billing receipts) are tied to your account and are sent when you opt in to specific event channels in your dashboard. You can disable any channel at any time from Settings → Email Notifications. Even transactional emails respect our suppression list — if you unsubscribe from the newsletter, transactional emails to the same address also pause.

Newsletter signup forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3 to prevent automated abuse. Google's reCAPTCHA is subject to their Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Email delivery is handled by Resend, our outbound email provider, which acts as a data processor on our behalf.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To generate AI-powered SEO content using your keywords and site data
  • To publish articles to your connected platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Wix)
  • To track keyword rankings and display analytics on your dashboard
  • To manage your subscription and enforce plan limits
  • To operate the affiliate and referral program
  • To improve our services, fix bugs, and develop new features
  • To communicate service updates and important notices

4. AI Processing and Third-Party AI Services

To generate articles, your keywords, site context, and content prompts are sent to third-party AI providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, and Groq. These providers process the data to generate content and may retain inputs/outputs according to their own data policies. We recommend reviewing each provider's privacy policy. We do not send your platform credentials or payment information to AI providers.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

  • Authentication cookies: Set by Clerk for session management (essential, cannot be disabled)
  • Theme preference: Stored in localStorage to remember your dark/light mode choice
  • Vercel Analytics: Collects anonymized, cookieless usage data
  • Google Analytics: Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_<container-id>) to measure traffic and usage. You can opt out via Google's opt-out browser add-on

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including: encryption at rest for all stored data (via Convex), encryption of sensitive credentials (WordPress passwords) using AES-256, HTTPS for all data in transit, OAuth 2.0 for third-party platform connections, and role-based access controls within our application.

7. Data Retention

Your data (articles, keywords, site configurations) is retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion request, we will delete your personal data and generated content within 30 days. Some data may be retained in backups for up to 90 days after deletion. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely for service improvement.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export: Request a portable copy of your data
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your data

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email listed below.

9. GDPR (European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (providing our services), legitimate interests (improving our platform, preventing fraud), and consent (where applicable). You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

10. CCPA (California Users)

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

11. Children's Privacy

SEO Sniper is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and, where appropriate, by sending an email notification. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
